INTRODUCTION

1.

Hostel is like a ‘Second’ home for Scholars and therefore every endeavour should be made to ensure that hostellers receive all the love and care and develop a value system to respect the norms of society and discipline of the School.

HOUSE MASTER / MISTRESS

2.

 House Master in the hostel is like ‘Head’ of the family and therefore plays a pivotal role in growth and holistic development of the hostellers.

MATRON

3.

 Each Hostel will have a lady matron who shall work as‘Mother’ to the Scholars

VISITORS

4.

 No visitor will visit the rooms/ dormitories. All visitors will first meet the House Master /Mistress, who will organise the meeting in a common room.Only parents/authorised guardians/local guardians will be allowed to meet on Saturday/Sundays once a month. NO UNAUTHORISED PERSON can meet the Scholar.The visiting hours are as under: -

 

(a)

Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

(b)

 Sundays/Holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

5.

 House Master/Mistress/Matron will NOT accept any gifts from parent, Scholars or anybody else connected with the Scholars. Visitors are NOT permitted to handover any eatables directly to the Scholar. No foodstuff (Cake etc) is permitted on birthdays. Scholars are allowed to order eatables for birthday parties through the School Mess. This amount will be charged to the account of scholars.
 

6.

 Scholars will not be permitted to receive visitors on a working holiday.However,in case of Exigencies and emergencies meeting during this time can be allowed after written permission of the Principal.

7.

 It is important that parents inform the Housemaster/Housemistress a few days in advance of their visit failing which you may find that permission is not granted because of a School function/programme. Please co-operate with us in this matter to avoid mutual embarassment.

8.

 There are no local guardians for girls but parents must give the name and address of a close relative/responsible person who could be contacted in case of an emergency.

DEPARTURE DURING HOLIDAYS

9.

 During holidays/short breaks when a Scholar has to leave the Hostel and go home or any other place, the parents should inform the mode of transport one month in advance to the Bursar to make suitable arrangements. No Scholar up to M-1 will be allowed to go alone under any circumstances.

PHONE CALLS

10.

 Parents can speak to their wards on Saturday, Sundays & Public Holidays only. No telephone calls on other days will be allowed except in case of an emergency.

 Saturday: 8.00p.m.- 10.00p.m., Sunday: 2.30 p.m.-9.30p.m.

This facility is provided only to parents or grand parents and not to friends/relatives.

POCKET MONEY

11.

No Scholar will be allowed to keep any cash with him/her. In case a Scholar wants to purchase some thing, he/she will give the requirement to House Master /Mistress, who will arrange the same.

LETTER WRITING

12.

 Every Scholar will be encouraged to write a letter to parents every Sunday. This will enhance the writing capability of Scholars and will also increase the Parent-Child interaction.

13.

 No cell phones are permitted in School.

OUTINGS :

14.

a)

 Scholars are permitted a day outing on

 

(i)

 The second Sunday in each month.

(ii)

 Holidays mentioned in the School Calendar

 

Timings: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

b)

Two night outing in a term are permitted only with parents/grand parents.

 

Timings: 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. next day
Scholars returning late will forfeit all outings for the following month.

c)

 Saturdays are full working days.

15.

 Leave for orthodontee treatment/ routine medical check up is allowed not more than once in a term.

16.

 Mid term outings form an integral part of our School programme. No Scholar is allowed to go home or skip these outings.

RULES REGARDING LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR FAMILY FUNCTIONS ETC.

It may sometimes become necessary for a child’s presence to be required at a marriage or some other ceremony. Such leave of absence for the marriage of real brothers and sister/real aunt and uncle/first cousins may be granted on the basis of a written application to the Principal/Headmistress but is restricted to once in every school term and is further restricted to 2 days and travel time.It is essential to attach the invitation card with the application. Emergency leave application for medical or other reasons should be addressed to the Principal/Headmistress.
OVERALL CO-ORDINATION

17.

 Bursar will do overall co-ordination of the activities of the Hostel and parents can contact the Bursar for any administrative work relating to their ward.

CONCLUSION

18.

 It shall be the endeavour of each individual at school with the active support of parents to ensure that the Hostel becomes a ‘Second’ home for each Scholar and it functions in an economic manner where every Scholar gets love, compassion and respect and is always willing to learn for increased thinking and holistic development.
